The folks at GetBabied.com have nominated me for the Best Birth Photographer in Austin Award.   Receiving this recognition for documenting one of life’s most sacred events is thrilling.  Every single time a birth is a magical miracle of perseverance, strength of character and nature at her most harsh and glorious.  The team in the room  gets sychronized with the birthing mother’s rhythms and rides the waves for the duration. A beautiful new being emerges and everyone  collectively exhales and and some of us weep, just a bit.   After the chord is tied, the little critter is weighed and swaddled and I get a good look at the face,  I walk out into the world feeling filled up like I hold the most wonderful secret about what I have just witnessed.   What other job provides such a spectacularly soul feeding experience?   Thanks so much to  the team at Get Babied.com for  shining the light on my work.  And if  you are so inclined, please click here to vote for me in the contest.  The Best Birth Photographer category is about 2/3 of the way down.
